Better compact: Nikon Coolpix P7000 or Canon PowerShot G12?

Side by side which do you think is a better camera? I'm a Nikon shooter and was told by a couple that the Canon G12 is the better of the two.

Any chance has anyone used both and had a opinion of which is better?

I too am a Nikon shooter and many of my friends are Canon, I had heard so many good things about the G12 and I wanted to give Canon a try so I bought it when it just came out. It is a pretty cool camera with some fun features. It takes very good pictures so I am happy with it. It's nice to have a smaller camera to take with me and keep in the car when you don't want to drag the big one around. I'm sure the Nikon P7000 is just as good though.

I had asked the same thing and found that the G12 is the better camera. The Nikon P7000 is a very close 2nd place.

A bad day at the race track is better than a good day in the office

And, essentially, an attempt at copying the features and aven appearance of the Canon line. I am a Nikon shooter, but I have a G11, and am very happy with it.
