Anyone know if botanical gardens will allow you to have a tripod?

I believe most will but to be sure, call the box office before going or check their website..
The Missouri Botanical Gardens in St Louis allows tripods throughout the gardens but not their indoor geo-dome - because of the narrow walkways.

Check out the website to the one you plan on going too. It should say on their site, if not, call them. Some places will/will not allow tripods. Some will allow tripods as long as you sign a form (maybe pay a fee). Some will allows tripods in certain areas, while other areas no tripod is allowed.

As has been said, call ahead...Or, take a monopod as most places will not have a problem with them...

Good idea. For that matter bring three monopods and a roll of duct tape. :woohoo:

Most that I have been to allow them unless they pose a tipping hazard due to crowds. Then Scott is right about monopods.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I know in Portland at the Japanese gardens they charge you extra for tripods, but most gardens I think don't charge.

I've had no problems, just don't go blocking people. Still can't hurt to call ahead.

There is a small family owned one that I have been to and they had no problems with me bringing my tripod in. They just asked to not to block people from walking around.

I'd rather be shooting!
