Not sure what camera bag to get.

I have an older bag that I carried my point and shoot in. The DSLR doesn't really fit. I was thinking about a backpack that has the velcro dividers, but I'm not really wanting to drop a ton of money. I hope to have a couple more lenses by mid summer so i'll need something with the room. Any ideas?

Bags are really personal...I'd suggest getting to a store with a good stock and see what will work for you.

Lowepro is a good brand.

I recently bought a Lowpro SlingShot 202AW. I liked it so much I got a 302AW because I wanted a bigger space. My daughter will benefit from the first purchase. There are some terrific deals on eBay... cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&i...geName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

This is one area where there are a lot of good brands. The decision is in the usage. I have Canon, Lowepro (bag and backpack), Tamrac, Vanguard and a few others.
I NEED TO HOLD A CAMERA BAG YARD SALE.
Each has their own features that make them "the best choice". :agree: with the "personal comments. The messenger style bag makes access handy. The backpack carries a ton on gear. The sling style has easy access also.
If you have a Camera Club nearby, visit and ask to see how folks use their choice, Right now the Vanguard messenger bag is going to get a good workout for 2 bodies, 2 zooms, 1 prime and extension tubes.
If you often carry a tripod, consider one that has a strap for that.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

This is what I think (in order of preference... I OWN bags from all of them)

1. Think Tank. By far the best brand IMHO. Really well made stuff.
2. (tie) Crumpler and Vanguard (really stylish and well made) Vanguard is a site sponser too. Crumpler is bright and fashionable, Vanguard is well thought out and stylish too. :)
3. Lowepro (also a site sponser). Nice bags. VERY well padded. Just not my fave bags.

Have you seen the backpacks from Clik Elite? If you do any outdoor stuff, they have a nice selection and are pretty decently priced.

I'm after a Think Tank bag myself but then again I just saw a nice pack made by Tamrac that isn't to shabby either :rolleyes

I have 2 tamrac bags A smaller light weight one and a thicker more padded one like the Lowepro shown above. It's good, but I keep buying more lenses and out grown them. They get so heavy for me to pack around so sometimes just have to leave a few unnessecary lenses out.
