Getting close to your subjects is always a good thing. This old canoe doesn’t seem to mind that Emma got right up to it to help change the perspective. An image like this makes the viewer pause to make sure they recognize what the subject really is. This excellent composition leads us through the image giving us the macro details of the lichen on the canoe and its recognizable shape and form.
