Leather Camera Straps That Won’t Break Your Budget
Leather camera straps are, hands down, the best way to keep your camera safe. That’s because leather camera straps are comfortable, unlike a lot of camera straps made of other materials. Leather camera straps never cut into your skin and they also let your skin breathe in humid or hot environments.
But, one major downside to using leather camera straps is that they are typically pretty expensive, at least if you want a durable camera strap they are. So, a lot of photographers are left trying to decide between buying an inexpensive camera strap that’s of bad quality, or a really pricey camera strap that’s good.
We don’t really think that’s fair, and neither do our friends over at Holdfast. Holdfast sells leather camera straps that are relatively inexpensive, but that will last a lifetime. Seriously. Each of the leather camera straps on this list come with a lifetime warranty.
Holdfast Camera Leash
I decided to start the list with Holdfast’s most budget-friendly camera strap: the Holdfast Camera Leash.
This leather wrist strap comes in a variety of awesome colors, from the classic tan or black to red or pink.
It’s also a pretty bare-bones setup. The camera strap is made from water buffalo leather and is one size fits all. You can use it to hold your camera, but it can also function as a way to strap different items to your backpack or hold your keys.
But, my favorite part of the Holdfast Camera leash is its price. It starts at just $45.
The other leather camera straps on this list are a bit pricier, so this is the best offer for a photographer on a budget.
HF Classic Strap
The next option from the Holdfast leather camera straps collection is the HF Classic Strap.
This camera strap is for photographers who are looking for a little more protection and comfort than a wrist strap. So, if you find yourself shooting for extended periods of time, then the HF Classic Strap may be best for you.
Each of these leather camera straps are made in America of the same high-grade leather. The HF Classic Strap is no different.
But, this strap is a bit more customizable. You can choose between a wide strap, which measures 1”, and a skinny strap, which measures ½”.
Both options come with stainless steel clasps, which will prevent any rusting.
The HF Classic Strap comes in three different colors: burgundy, tan or black. Unlike the Holdfast Camera Leash, this camera strap is not one size fits all. You can choose the length of your strap. The shortest is 38” and the longest is 52”.
All of these customizable options do come at a bit of a higher price. The HF Classic Strap starts at $95.

Holdfast MoneyMaker Solo
The final option in this leather camera straps article is the Holdfast MoneyMaker Solo.
This is Holdfast’s best selling camera strap for a reason. It is a cross body leather camera strap designed to hold one camera. The strap is much thicker than on the HF Classic Strap, which enables you to carry a much heavier camera and lens without any problems.
The strap also comes with a belt anchor. You use the belt anchor to ensure your camera stays in place until the exact moment you need it for shooting. For photographers who are also adventurers, the Holdfast MoneyMaker Solo will prevent you from accidentally slamming your camera into a rockface, or someone on the subway, while you’re in transit.
The Holdfast MoneyMaker Solo comes in three different sizes, for people under 5’7”, for people between 5’8” and 6’2”, and for people over 6’3”. You also need to make sure that you choose the correct strap because Holdfast makes different versions of this one for right handed and left handed photographers.
You can pick up a Holdfast MoneyMaker Solo for $175.
