- Pictorem Metal Print Review
In case you've missed it, we're in the midst of our 2021 Metal Print Shootout.
The idea of this series is simple - order the same print from various metal print companies, compare them head to head, and determine which company is the best based on those comparisons.
This is our second year of doing this shootout, but the first year that Pictorem was selected to be a part of it.
In today's article, I'll introduce you to Pictorem in case you've never heard of them or used them before. I'll give a quick overview of the company, their hours, any Pictorem coupon codes that might be floating around out there, and I'll summarize existing Pictorem reviews before diving into my own review of their metal print.
Let's get to it!

Pictorem is based in Montreal, Canada. The company grew out of a shared passion for art and photography, and a desire to create the highest-quality art possible.
Founded in 2014, Pictorem initially specialized in canvas prints. In the years since, the company has expanded to offer various other products (outlined below). Additionally, Pictorem has grown to serve tens of thousands of customers worldwide and has prepared and shipped hundreds of thousands of pieces of art.
Pictorem also supports Trees for the Future, a 501(c)3 non-profit that works to plant trees on degraded lands. For every print they make, one tree is planted.
You can order a pictorem metal print or other product any time of day or night on their website at pictorem.com.
Customers are welcome to visit Pictorem's corporate headquarters in Montreal. The facility is open to the public Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, eastern time. If you want to visit, you can call 1-800-650-5301 for more details.
If you need to ask a question or need other assistance, you can message them or call them using the information on Pictorem's contact page.
As mentioned earlier, Pictorem products initially only included canvas prints. Now, however, they offer a wide range of photographic prints, from metal to acrylic to wood.
Other Pictroem products include murals, fine art prints, panel prints, picture frames, and even puzzle prints.
Pictorem Promo Code
If you Google "Pictorem promo code" you'll find that there are quite a few possibilities, at least at the time of this writing.
However, Pictorem's homepage mentions a promo code worth 40 percent off plus free shipping. Of course, this is not a permanent offer, so future promo codes and discounts will vary.
Pictorem Return Policy
The Pictorem return policy is a little confusing. The only mention of returns on their FAQ's page is for Pro account members, which states that Pictorem guarantees that dropshipped items that are not satisfactory will be exchanged or a replacement will be sent to the customer. But if you aren't a Pro member, it's unclear what the return policy is.
Of course, the return policy only covers issues that are within Pictorem's control. The quality of the image provided, for example, is on the customer. If you upload an image that is not sufficient for printing, you'll be stuck with a poor print.
For what it's worth, Pictorem does state that they will "always find some way to help you," so if you aren't satisfied with a purchase, the best course of action is to get in touch with them.
There aren't a lot of Pictorem reviews online, so we need to take the results of those reviews with a grain of salt.
Pictorem Metal Print Review
As I note in the video above, the packaging for the print was actually quite good. This is critical for not only protecting the print, but if you order a print from Pictorem and have them dropship it to a client, you want that first impression to be a good one.
Additionally, Pictorem included a little thank you card for placing an order as well as a microfiber cloth for cleaning the metal print. These are small things, but nice touches that give you a good first impression.
As for the print itself, what I initially look for is color accuracy, banding, and loss of sharpness.
In terms of colors, Pictorem seems to have done a decent job. The colors seem accurate and I like the level of vibrancy that's in the print. Unfortunately, I also see some banding in certain areas of the print, which is certainly not good.
Now, the banding isn't hugely noticeable - I can only see the lines when the light hits the print in a certain way. But, they're still there - and they shouldn't be.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the print isn't as sharp as it could be. Again, this isn't a huge problem, but it is still a noticeable level of softness.
On the back is a wood frame, which is a nice feature, but the frame itself was poorly made. Three of the four mitered corners have a 1/16th-inch gap that makes the frame look sloppy. While the frame is on the back and isn't seen once the print is hung up, it's certainly something that you or your clients will see when the print is unboxed. But, the frame is at least centered on the print, which is more than I can say for some of the other prints I've reviewed for the 2021 Metal Print Shootout.
At the end of the day, my Pictorem metal print isn't terrible, but it won't be at the top of the heap, either. The color and vibrancy of the print are definitely its best features, and I also like the fact that the corners of the print are rounded off. But the slight banding issue, loss of sharpness, and lack of quality control on the frame construction bring Pictorem's score down.
Remember that this is just one in a series of metal print reviews that I'm doing for our 2021 Metal Print Shootout, so stay tuned for more reviews in the coming weeks here and on our YouTube channel!
