I find that a lot of times photographers aren’t really worried about their camera strap. Wouldn’t you rather spend money on a new camera lens or filter?
While I understand this thinking, I also think that knowing how to choose a camera strap or camera harness is a sign of a phenomenal photographer. After all, your comfort is important and you won’t be able to shoot all day with just any camera strap.
So, in this article about which camera strap is right for you, we are featuring a variety of Holdfast’s best camera straps. We chose Holdfast because I’ve personally used every single one of these Holdfast camera straps and can vouch that they are comfortable and easy to use.
Let’s get started!
Best Camera Strap for Light Duty Work: Holdfast HF Classic
The Holdfast Classic is the camera strap for you if you’re looking for something simple. You can choose if you’d prefer a thin or wide piece of leather. You can also choose the length of your camera strap so your camera falls exactly where you want it to.
The HF Classic camera strap features stainless steel D-rings, so they won’t rust in inclimate weather, and leather flaps over those D-rings to protect your camera from any scratches.

You can purchase this camera strap in a variety of classic colors, like burgundy, tan, and chestnut.
The HF Classic is best for photographers who are looking for a camera strap for less heavy camera kits, like a small mirrorless system like my Canon EOS M6 Mark II.
Plus, the HF Classic is the cheapest camera strap on this list at just under $100.

Best Camera Strap for Single Camera Shooters: Holdfast MoneyMaker Solo
The MoneyMaker Solo is a twist on Holdfast’s best selling camera strap.
The MoneyMaker Solo holds one camera at a time and operates as a cross-body camera strap. It’s designed for photographers who need to carry a single camera system, be that a DSLR or a mirrorless setup, like my primary rig, the Canon EOS R.

The D-Ring is still made of stainless steel, but the MoneyMaker Solo comes with a stabilizing strap to ensure your camera strap isn’t sliding around your body all day to prevent chafing.
However, my favorite quality of the MoneyMaker Solo is the attached belt anchor. This anchor helps keep your camera in place as you walk, kneel, stoop, and otherwise move around as you shoot.
The MoneyMaker Solo, which is sold for $175, is perfect for photographers who are active or photographers who have a need to carry one camera at a time.

Best Camera Harness: Holdfast MoneyMaker
The Original MoneyMaker is Holdfast’s best selling camera strap.
The MoneyMaker camera strap can carry two cameras simultaneously, so it’s a good match for wedding and event photographers who need to carry everything with them.
In fact, with an optional camera attachment, you can add a third camera to the party and carry it directly in front of you on your sternum. Nice!
It comes in a variety of materials, including bridle leather, water buffalo leather, and American bison leather, to name a few. Additionally, unlike other camera straps, this camera strap is not one-size-fits-all. You can order one in small, medium, or large so you’ll know it's the perfect fit for you.
On top of all that, the MoneyMaker comes with a lifetime guarantee. Talk about peace of mind!
Vegan Leather MoneyMaker
The Vegan Leather MoneyMaker is a good option for photographers who want to be animal-friendly while maintaining their own comfort.
It functions exactly as the Original MoneyMaker does, which means you’ll be able to carry two or three cameras at once. The only difference is that this version works in all weather conditions because vegan leather, unlike leather, can get soaking wet with no adverse effects.
The Vegan Leather MoneyMaker is also the most versatile of all of Holdfast’s camera straps because it comes in 14 colors, including hot pink and mint green. With all that variety, you can customize your strap to fit your unique style!
The Vegan Leather MoneyMaker is $195.
