- WhiteWall Metal Print Review
In this edition of our 2021 metal print shootout, I'm taking a long, hard look at this metal print from WhiteWall.
Now, while WhiteWall is a well-known printing company, this is the first metal print that I've ever ordered from them.
As is the point with this shootout, we want to see how the quality of this print compares to the other companies in the competition.
So, that's precisely what we're going to do!
In this WhiteWall metal print review, I'll take a look at everything from color and sharpness to the hanger on the back to the shipping materials that were used. It's a comprehensive look that will help you decide if this is a print that's worthy of your hard-earned money.
Let's get started!

Table of Contents
WhiteWall has been in business since 2007, and in that time, it has developed state-of-the-art technologies to go with traditional printing methods to produce its products.
WhiteWall has won numerous awards for its gallery-quality materials, including four International TIPA Awards.
WhiteWall has a robust online presence at WhiteWall.com, but also has brick-and-mortar locations worldwide.
WhiteWall's website is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for placing orders.
If you have a question, you can email WhiteWall any time of day, though the response time is limited to normal business hours.
Speaking of which, customer service is available Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 9:00 pm EST.
WhiteWall also has 12 stores located around the globe. Check out each store's specific hours here.
Since this is a metal print review for WhiteWall, it's obvious that metal prints are among the products they offer. However, they also offer plenty of other photography products.
For example, you can get canvas prints, acrylic photo prints, and framed photo prints.
You can also order giclee prints, prints on wood, and prints on forex, just to name a few.
WhiteWall Promo Code
WhiteWall offers 10 percent off your first order, and occasionally offers other promo codes, depending on the product and the time of year.
You might be able to find promo codes elsewhere, too. For example, you can get a $10 off promo code from RetailMeNot.
WhiteWall Return Policy
The WhiteWall return policy is a little vague.
On the help page, it mentions that if a product arrives damaged, but you don't initially see the damage, to keep all the packing materials in case the product needs to be shipped back.
If you manage to spot any damage before accepting delivery of the item, WhiteWall recommends that you refuse delivery so it will be shipped back to them.
WhiteWall has a page of testimonials that sing its praises. Obviously, this list is compiled by WhiteWall so it will include only the best reviews.
Perhaps a better gauge of the WhiteWall experience is by looking at third-party sites like TrustPilot. There, WhiteWall has a 3.7-star rating (out of 5 stars) with 59 percent of reviews being the top category of "excellent."
It should also be noted that the second-most popular category for WhiteWall reviews on TrustPilot is the lowest category - "bad" - with 26 percent of reviews.
WhiteWall Metal Print Review
Let's talk about image quality...
When viewing the print straight on with a light source behind me, I can see faint lines from the printer moving back and forth across the metal.
There are even a few instances in which I can see small "puddles" of ink from the printer.
But, overall, the colors look okay and seem fairly accurate to what the original image looked like.
Regarding sharpness, it looks as though the image has been sharpened by WhiteWall. I can especially see it at the top of the tree. It just looks a little overcooked, and that is not the way the original image file appears.
Something else that's too sharp are the four corners of the print.
Other companies in this 2021 Metal Print Shootout file the corners down, and in some cases, completely round them off. That's not the case with this WhiteWall metal print, though. The corners are SHARP and could give you a good scratch.
On the back is a nice metal mounting frame.
It includes felt pieces on each corner of the mounting frame, which is a nice touch to spare your walls from damage.
Interestingly, the print came with no mounting hardware - no cleat, not even a screw. So while the frame is well-built, there's no way to hang it on the wall unless you supply your own mounting materials.
Another problem is that the mounting frame isn't exactly centered on the print. This could have something to do with large gaps in some of the corners of the mounting frame.
With regard to the packaging for shipment, it was okay, but certainly nothing impressive.
The materials consisted of an outer cardboard box that was well-sized for the print. Inside were four pieces of styrofoam to shield the edges of the print for damage (but the styrofoam pieces were free-floating and not attached to the cardboard in any way).
Then, the print was wrapped in bubble wrap to protect it from damage during shipment. It arrived without damage, but given the lackluster packaging, I think this was a minor miracle, especially since the print traveled from Germany to California.
Overall, this print is "fine," but nothing spectacular.
