In another move by the "analog beer for the digital age" brewery, Dogfish Head is set to debut a craft beer that can develop Kodak Super 8 film.
The beer, SuperEIGHT, is crafted with 8 fresh ingredients, including prickly pear, mango, boysenberry, raspberry, kiwi and Hawaiian sea salt. It rings in at 5.3% alcohol, is a gose (which means it has high-acidity) and is set to release this time next week. Oh yeah; it also can be used to develop film.

The Dogfish Head/Kodak pairing was almost an accident. The SuperEIGHT gose was already in the works when the owner of Dogfish Head, Sam Calagione, helped record a podcast with Kodak.
While shooting the podcast, he figured out that some beers are especially good for developing film. The SuperEIGHT just so happened to be that type of beer.
Editor's Tip: Do you have beautiful photos but aren't sure how to display them? Turn them into large format prints! See what your photos look like as fine art.
Besides releasing the exact step-by-step for developing Kodak 8 film with the SuperEIGHT, Dogfish Head is also sending their owner on a boat trip up the East coast over the summer.
He will document his adventure on Super 8 film, develop the photos with the SuperEIGHT beer, and release it as a short film.
