Grip or no grip?

How many of you are using a grip on your camera?  Aside from the added battery life, any worth while benefits that you like about having a grip.  I'm kind of on the fence.

No grip. My gear is heavy enough without and my battery lasts a long time now as well as I'm a tripod user 90% of the time.

Why so serious?

All my cameras have a grip… I don't care much for the weight
but want more stability and longer battery power and life. :P

Gotcha, thanks guys!

BTW are these easy enough to put on that I can take on and off easily if I wanted too?

The second battery is somewhat useless, although one does like the idea of using alkaline batteries in a pinch.

The primary value for me is rotating the camera to portrait mode and having button/shutter release/joy stick, especially when working on a monopod. I got tired of having my hand on the top of the camera.

Yes both my Nikons have grips, makes it easier to hold especially in portrait mode, also in the menu you can opt for which battery the camera uses first :-)

*and that is just to get added battery life so I don't need to swap battery out so often and interrupt my shooting.

Got one, and it's nice to be able to move my orientation from landscape to portrait quick, and the added grip surface is nice for holding the camera.  Yes, it's added bulk and weight, but it's worth it for me.

I have a grip but don’t use it too much these days it’s good for extra battery life but I find it’s easier just to carry a few spare batteries
