Will heavy fog damage a camera?

Well actually if a camera is weather sealed, will that keep fog out of the camera?  If not, will the mist damage a camera?  I got caught in heavy fog and packed up my gear to play it safe.

If it's weather sealed, and the lense is rated the same, put a filter on it to complete the seal.

I clean my camera off usually with a hose.

Let's say your D70 may be weather resistant but not sealed
and your lens has possibly the same quality.

Heavy fog is only saturated air and will deposit on the outside
of your gear but it may penetrate when changing lens or using
a non IF lens.

LOL a hose, now are you using any particular nozzle or will any nozzle work?

If your camera can't take being in fog, I suggest you buy a different camera.

If you plan to keep the lens on the camera body, you're good to go.  I wouldn't be swapping out often during heavy fog.

Inside the lens you can get some sort growth or fungus. This happened to me.

It's moisture, I wouldn't spend to long in fog with a camera with no weather sealing.
