Dyson no blade fan?

12 years 9 months ago #109048 by Kenya See
I'm watching TV right now and just saw commercial on Dyson's bladeless fan. Anyone have one of these? Does it blow pretty strong or no? It looks pretty interesting, I have one of their vacuums and it works amazing.

I've seen the ads and seen the prices. Not sure the benefits are worth the price ($299 for table model and $449 for floor or tower).

I saw one at the store. It was really nice. Strong airflow, and pretty quiet. I think the price is outrageous, but if someone gave me one as a gift, I certainly wouldn't turn it down! ;)

I agree with others, the price is insane right now. They're cool to play with though.

I'm confused as to how it works. :(

I think it actually has a fan in the base, which shoots it up into the circle, where it gathers steam and has nowhere to go but out. Okay, so I actually have no clue, but I sounded like I did.

I know devices can cause air flow by emitting electrically charged ions. That would explain its quietness and definitely justify the price. But I've never really looked into these "fans."

Either that or there's a hamster in the base that's losing it's mind.

That's one seriously energetic, mutant hamster...

Dyson Fan explained here very nicely. I think it has something to do with Bernoulli's principle, but don't quote me on that. I'll look into that another day. Would be fun to play with one.
