The Coffee Shop: A place to relax and hang out.

Buenas Tardes Fellow Photographytalkers,

Overcast and cool today, 66F presently, looks and feels like rain, but in California that's about all you get. Gary just finished kneading some rosemary, parsley, sweet & hot pepper bread.  It is set aside for its first rise.

Gary is low on his vino and ordered a case from Nakedwines.com.  Naked Wines is an odd marketing group.  Gary believes they are a 501(c)(3) and they market smaller vineyards who normally would sell their grapes to the big boys.  Naked Wines fronts the smaller vintners monies for them make their own wines. Recently, Naked Wines took all the profits from a promotional deal and donated the proceeds to help victims from the California Wildfires, (not just fire affected vineyards, but to organizations helping all the people caught up in the fires). If anybody likes wine, check out Nakedwines.com.

Gary is scheduled to hit the Temecula Wine County on Tuesday.

That bread look super tasty.  Did you make yourself?

I've been wanting to try and make bread.  That and pickles!

And it is tasty.  Yes, I made it from scratch. Bread is pretty simple.  I have a few books on bread making for recipes and such, but there are a ton of recipes online. I make a lot of flat bread in the Ninja, no wait for it to rise.  Maybe 20-30 minutes tops for the flat bread, most of that time is spend harvesting and chopping herbs and peppers and stuff.  I use the flat bread as pizza crust. Haven't made any pickles. I make a lot of stuff, like BBQ sauce and roast coffee beans.

And that is the problem ... it goes fast and ends up on the waistline. We've already eaten about half the loaf and there's only two of us.

Yesterday Gary made some Turkey Meatloaf.  Ground turkey is pretty bland, consequently Gary herbs and spices the hell out of it.  Above is the chopped parsley, basil and peppers Gary tossed into the turkey meatloaf. It is delish!

A glass of Curvee Rouge and Sweet Angel’s Waltz. A grand way to start the afternoon.

Buenas Tardes Fellow Photographytalkers:

Mary Lou, Maggie and Gary have arrived in Temecula for an afternoon of wine tasting and eats.

Our first stop is always Thornton's for exceptional sparkling wines and absolutely great food.

The last grapes at Doffo Winery.

Yesterday was sooooooo nice.  It was 74F in Temecula, blue skies, rolling hills filled with miles and miles of undulating lines of vineyards.  We hit the three wineries where we are members filling up on free sparkling wines, picking up our orders, relaxing on the patios and chatting with other wine lovers.

A lovely day.

Finally able to relax, my wife dragged me around all day today doing last minute holiday shopping.  To happy to be out of these shoes!

Anyone else have shopping left?

Not here, we finished up our shopping 3 days ago.  Happy to say, now we have guest arriving tomorrow.

Started shopping at Costco ... the huge parking lot was filled up ... had to wait for a space to open up.  Then down to Hawaiian Gardens to pick up our holiday tamales (six dozen).  After the tamales to a mall where I ended up stalking a guy walking out of the mall in order to snag a parking spot.  Amazon is my best friend.

Interesting enough, we also have guests coming in tomorrow. I have a large stock of vino which I give out as gifts.  Makes life easy.

I have at least a good 4-6 hours of shopping with my better half tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it.

The pain of it all. :(   (It's tough being a guy.  ;) )

Buenas Dias Fellow Photographytalkers. It is 49F presently, but should warm up and break 70F today.  The sun is out, guests coming in so more cleaning and some wrapping.  Gary does have to design and print a collage of his stepdaughter's play ... but it isn't the last minute yet.
