Looking out from the patio at Lorenzi.

Breakfast at Thornton’s Winery. The caramel crepes were wonderful ... paired up with a glass of champagne.

Buenos Dias Fellow Photography Talkers.

No plans for shooting this weekend ... but ... Mary Lou and Gary have decided to invite unpaid federal worker(s) and family over for dinner.  Maybe we'll pick up a utility bill or maybe some groceries ... but we have decided to do something to help out.  If anybody can, join us in helping a neighbor.

Which reminds Gary, he is out of coffee.  Technically, he isn't out of coffee ... Gary just needs to roast some as he only has green coffee beans.

Green coffee beans?

Are you ordering coffee beans before they have been roasted?

Yes, then Gary roasts them at home. Gary cooked up a pound or so yesterday.

I've never roasted my own coffee, can you taste the difference from beans you buy from Starbucks or Peets then grind?

The final product.  Gary prefers a darker roast ... but he includes some medium beans in the mix.

Yes. Gary has the entire world of beans available for his roasting. But, if you start shopping on the internet or better coffee supply houses for your beans, (roasted or green coffee beans) ... you will have a similar experience.

My brother roast his coffee beans as well.  There is HUGE difference in flavor and oils released from coffee.
