The Coffee Shop: A place to relax and hang out.

Gary started with a popcorn popper because he wasn't sure he wanted to make a 'big' investment into a bonafide roaster if there wasn't a significant difference between pre-roasted beans and home roasted beans.  Gary has stayed with the popper because ... it works ... and it works really well. When the popper goes out Gary will get a real roaster.

Amazon. Sometimes Gary shops for value and sometimes he shops for a particular bean or geographical area. Gary found Sweet Maria’s to have very good quality.

Being in SoCal, there are local places to purchase unroasted beans ... but Amazon is sooo easy.

Espresso is my favorite form of coffee.  Especially in the afternoon ... just kick back, take a break and enjoy sipping a cup.

Tomorrows Martin Luther Day, is that a day most get off from work? Are the banks open or closed?

ML King is a federal holiday ... so most banks are closed.

Gary checked it out ... huge, but too overcast to get anything decent.  It wasn't very 'Bloody' when Gary saw it.  Due to the marine layer and light pollution, the night skies aren't very photogenic around Los Angeles.  But driving a couple hours away to ... say Joshua Tree ... that a different story and a much better experience.

Buenos Tardes Fellow PhotographyTalkers. Happy MLK Day. Santa Ana Winds today. Santa Ana’s are a high, strong wind sweeping across Southern California from the deserts. In summer and fall the winds are very hot and dry ... like single digit humidity dry. In winter and spring the winds are coooooold.

The winds drove Gary inside today (after Miss Maggie’s walk).  He ended up making tomorrow’s dinner, Chicken Mole in the Sous Vide.  Gary will cook it for about 24 hours.
