The Perfect Camera Bag for Mirrorless Cameras
- Stylish Photography Accessories that are Also Functional
- Form Meets Function with these Beautiful Camera Bags
Looking for the perfect camera bag for mirrorless cameras you own?
Many of us have switched over to mirrorless camera gear either for our primary gear or for our personal camera and could use a different bag than what we’ve been using.
The question is, what’s the perfect camera bag for mirrorless cameras? Let’s find out!
Small Camera Bags
A small camera bag may work better for us than the bag we hauled around our DSLR gear in. Seems like if we have smaller equipment, then the bags we have should be smaller.
Granted, some of the lenses for Full Frame format mirrorless are still on the large size, though the camera bodies are definitely smaller. And if we’re shooting in one of the crop formats, APS-C or MFT, our entire gear set (including lenses) is going to take up quite a bit less space.
So, having a better camera bag for mirrorless cameras probably means a smaller bag and a more discreet camera bag.
Safe and Secure
Just because we want a smaller bag, we still would want the maximum level of protection for our gear. Because new camera equipment is not cheap by any means. So we want to have adequate padding and heavy duty material that can withstand being put on the floor or on the ground and even take a bump or two.
The closure hardware and any strap adjustments also need to be high quality, heavy duty material which will prevent any accidental drops or dumping out of our cameras and lenses.
This is a basic requirement, yet one that many people don’t look for in a good camera bag. After investing so much money in your gear, you want to ensure it’s protected!

It’s Okay to Be Stylish
Our cameras look good, so why not have a good looking and maybe even stylish product as our new camera bag for mirrorless cameras?
One small camera bag for mirrorless cameras that has caught my attention lately is the HoldFast + Fundy StreetWise bag from HoldFast Gear. It’s just large enough to hold a compact mirrorless system camera and several lenses or a camera and lens with some other accessories, so it can satisfy both still photography and videography needs.
The exterior material is a heavy duty waxed canvas with the interior made from natural sheepskin for good padding, protection, and water resistance. The fact that this is also very good looking is not lost on many of us. It is low key enough to not draw undue attention and reminds me of my favorite duster that I wear on lots of landscape photo treks or street photography.
It can be extended for extra gear by adding Explorer Pouches or an Explorer Wallet that can keep other small items safe such as our smartphone, memory cards, and batteries.

You’ll probably also notice that the pricing of these bags, pouches, and wallets is not low budget by any means, but for the quality of these items, they can still be seen as reasonable since they will do exactly what we want them to do and will last a long, long time.
Since this is coming close to gift giving time for many people, you might think about any photographers on your list that you might want to bestow the honor of receiving this functional, very well made, heavy duty, and quite good looking camera bag for mirrorless cameras!
