Another of my "utility worker" duties is to sometimes be the guy who actually goes to meters, to shut off or turn on,  the WATER and ELECTRIC service.  Yesterday, I had a work order to go to a house and shut off everything.  The people were gone.

DANG yea, they were gone, the house was vacant and empty, but what a appalling mess they left.  The electric meter was in the back, so when I went through the broken down gate, gingerly stepping on a 3 x 7 ft. shattered mirror laying in the pathway, next to the rotting hulls of 3 different desk computer towers, various pieces of broken this and that.  When I got to the backyard, where I had to actually get to the meter and do some tool work, this is what I found. The flies were the worst part of it.

Just sitting in my car when this guy pulls into the parking lot and jumps out for a shot of his car.  My phone camera is all I had

Went for a walk to get some last shots of flowers before the first frost in Nova Scotia with my 5DmkIII and old Sigma 90mm macro. This was not the best of them but it was the last one.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Taken a few days ago at a local park’s butterfly/hummingbird garden. Met a nice family there and the daughter coaxed a Queen butterfly on to her hand and I was able to capture it quick.
