This is one of the specifications of a digital camera and relates to how it reproduces the 35mm format of traditional film cameras. This is often listed as a range of focal lengths for lenses. Fifty millimeters is normally the equivalent of human sight. Less the 50mm is a wide-angle view and 70mm or more is a telephoto view.
This is a camera function that bounces an invisible beam of light off the primary object or focal plane of the image you've composed in the camera. By measuring the precise distance between the camera and the object, the lens is automatically set for the correct focus.

This is a number that represents the size of your camera lens opening. That number is called an f-stop; 'f' is for focal. Those numbers are found on the lens of your digital camera, and may appear as f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/16, f/22, etc. The smaller the number, the bigger the aperture opening. Look for the symbol 'A' or 'Av' to select this mode. You then choose an aperture (an f-stop) that you think is correct for the specific conditions of the digital photo you want to take. Your camera will then automatically select a shutter speed that, in combination with the f-stop you chose, will give you the right exposure. You can also control depth of field in the aperture priority mode.
