It might not be the latest in sensor innovation, but the 18 mp CMOS of the Rebel T5 still packs a solid punch. Image quality is excellent even when compared to more expensive enthusiast DSLRs. Tonal range is great, dynamic range is very good and the sharpness is more than enough to enable shooters to print in large sizes.
3. The size
At just 435gr (body only) the Rebel T5 is a small and very light DSLR. Apart from the obvious advantage of not tearing your arm off or breaking your neck, using a small camera like this will make you less visible. That means you can use it successfully for street photography, something that's a lot harder to do with bigger cameras. It also takes a lot less room in your baggage, making it the perfect travel camera.
4. The simplicity
This is a camera that was designed to make photography simple. It's the perfect learner's camera and it's up to the user to decide if the camera should make all the settings or if he or she wants to take over the controls. Besides being a great still camera, the T5 behaves well when you switch it to video mode. 6. The investment
It's not just that this is an insanely cheap camera. It still holds value and it will for at least a couple of more years. Sure, it may not be a camera for the serious amateur, but it can still be a great walk around camera or a reliable second body. There's nothing jaw- dropping about it, but at this price it's just a hard deal to pass.
